In recent years, often I find myself with a certain division of consciousness. Film director must research the world around him, to understand the past, the present, and the future. Otherwise, he will not be able to reproduce reality on the screen. At the same time, you look at many things as an ordinary person.

In the first days of the russian offensive, I was horrified to see the devastated kindergartens. I know how difficult it is for a kindergarten to buy good furniture. It should be beautiful and colorful to make it fun for the kids to play there. Cheap gray office furniture is not suitable for this. How long will it take to restore the walls, roofs, buy new furniture? Our children will be left without kindergartens for a long time ...

One part of my mind, (the researcher), told me that this is only a beginning, the russians are just warming up: "You remember Syria, the beginning of this war in 2014, Chechnya, and the last 300 years of our history. What are those kindergartens ... '

But another part of my mind said: "Children are the most vulnerable creatures in the world, they need our care more than anyone else. What would be a moral level of a person who can destroy kindergartens? That cannot be on purpose!"

Later a rocket hit a high-rise building in Kyiv. It smashed the edge of the house. The target was surely different. I immediately thought: "There is a maternity hospital nearby! How can you bomb such hospitals? There are pregnant women, it is difficult for them to go down to the bomb shelter! And the babies? They are so defenseless! If someone is hurt, it will be an incredible tragedy!"

My internal researcher told me: "Have you forgotten who the muscovites are? You have read so many different history books. And Syria, again? Did you think they would suddenly behave better here? '

"No," I said to myself, "You are right, but the maternity hospital? We are lucky, they missed ... Maybe, realizing this, they will understand something ... '

"Yeah," the internal researcher replied, "You, on your public meetings, have repeatedly told people who they are, so where do these naive dreams come from?"

"You are right." I say to myself, "But that"s maternity hospital!'

News of the destroyed maternity hospitals soon arrived.

Later we saw the children wounded during the massive shelling of our cities, civil cars with refugees and their children hit by machineguns fire.

I looked at the photo of the doctor who failed to save the wounded child and the parents standing over the dead body. It seemed to me that there could be no greater tragedy in life. I do not know how father and mother could live with it. Part of my mind told me: 'You know that they do it on purpose, they want us to afraid, they want our families to have no future.'

'How can a person do this on purpose?' — I answered myself, — 'They also have children, even Sting once sang that russians love their children too.'

'What does Sting know about russians?' You have studied the history of our struggle for freedom. Did they did the same things before? '

"They did. But when the pilot drops a bomb or artilleryman fires a howitzer, they can"t be sure what will they hit!'

'Of course,' replied another part of my mind, 'When you destroy a high-rise building where 100 families live, you can't imagine that there can be children. Or when you drop a bomb on a theater where 'CHILDREN' is written in huge letters on both sides, the thought that you can hurt a child will not come to you. '

"Well, maybe he just got distracted and didn"t see?'

'Yeah, all of them, always. It seems you were born yesterday. They came to kill as many of us as possible and destroy our future. "

'That's right, but could they deliberately kill children?"

Later Bucha was freed.

And finally came TODAY.

I saw in the news a photo of a family with children who were shot and then their bodies were burned. And the second part of my mind said nothing to the first. It had nothing to say. Or maybe it just vanished.

The real victory in this war is not just to liberate our lands and protect ourselves from future russian invasions. We need to rebuild all kindergartens and make sure that there will be many, many happy children. The Russians have come to take away our future, we have to prove that we will have it.
