A conference was held in Brussels on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the independence of IchkeriaChechen battalions fighting as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue the struggle for the freedom of their people, defending the independence of Ichkeria on a new front and the victory of Ukraine. From September 20 to 22, a conference dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the declaration of independence of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria was held in Brussels. The event brought together representatives of the Chechen diaspora, international experts, Ukrainian and European politicians to discuss the future of Chechnya and its role in the modern world.

The Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Akhmed Zakayev made a speech in which he focused on the importance of supporting the Chechen people and their struggle for independence. He emphasized the close connection between the war in Ukraine and the struggle of the Chechens against Russian aggression, which has been going on for more than three decades:

"Today, in the conditions of the war in Ukraine, our struggle acquires a new meaning and relevance. The world sees that the war waged by Russia is not limited to the borders of one country — it is a war for the preservation of imperial ambitions at any cost. We, Chechens, have already experienced the same methods of aggression as the Ukrainians: brutal bombing of cities, suppression of dissent, attempts to erase our people from the world map. And today we see how these same methods are used against Ukraine," Zakaev said

Zakayev also noted that the Chechen people continue their struggle not only for their own freedom, but also for the freedom of the entire civilized world. He emphasized that Ichkeria is an example for other nations that strive to get rid of dictatorships and imperial oppression:

"Russia"s attempts to impose its will on other peoples is not just a regional conflict, it is a global threat that concerns all of us. Chechnya"s struggle for its independence is a struggle for the right of peoples to choose their future independently, without external pressure and dictation," — emphasized the Prime Minister.

The conference in Brussels once again confirmed the importance of international support for the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in its long struggle for independence. The participants of the event called on the international community to recognize Ichkeria as an independent state and to continue the struggle for a free world where every nation has the right to self-identification and self-determination.
