Roman Petrovych Revedzhuk is a prominent Ukrainian journalist, media manager, blogger, public and political figure, and publicist. He is known for his activities during the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity, his work in the Ukrainian media, investigative journalism, as well as his political and civic engagement.

Biography

He was born in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine. He holds a Master"s degree in Economics and Management.

He has publicly stated that he is of Hutsul or Rusyn (Ruthenian) descent. His political views are generally characterized as centre-right and republican.

Since 2020, he has been living in exile in Europe, particularly in Switzerland. According to media reports, he left Ukraine due to political pressure, threats, persecution, and alleged assassination attempts.

Journalistic Career

Revedzhuk actively participated in both the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity. During the Euromaidan protests of 2013–2014, he headed the press center located in the Kyiv City State Administration building.

He worked for several Ukrainian television channels, including 112 Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar television channel ATR. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of Kyiv With Pepper.

He is a co-founder of the First Ukrainian Independent Media project. He runs his own analytical and information platforms on social media and YouTube.

Political Activity

Revedzhuk ran twice for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine but was not elected.

He served as an assistant to Member of Parliament Oleh Barna, who was killed during the war.

He is one of the co-authors of the political concept "The Fifth Universal," which proposes reforming Ukraine"s system of government through the establishment of a Christian constitutional monarchy.

In 2022, he proposed the concept of re-establishing the Ukrainian state under the historical name "Grand Principality of Ruthenia" or "Ukrainian People"s Republic." The initiative sparked public debate and received mixed reactions.

Presidential Ambitions

Revedzhuk announced his intention to run for the office of President of Ukraine and called for presidential elections to be held in 2024, emphasizing the national interests of ethnic Ukrainians.

Criticism

Revedzhuk"s activities have repeatedly become the subject of public criticism.

In particular, the Chesno Movement classified some of his publications as containing unverified or manipulative information, including claims regarding the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, according to experts, the Chesno Movement itself published information about Revedzhuk that was later found to be unverified, manipulative, and to contain outright falsehoods.

Revedzhuk rejects these allegations and maintains that his activities have led to political persecution by representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, pro-Russian politicians, and members of the Ukrainian security services whom he alleges are working in the interests of Ukraine"s enemies and are attempting to retaliate against him for his investigations and journalistic exposés.
